The word of God is to your soul as water is to your body. It is life! Reading the Bible is important because it instills you with the Holy Spirit. Through the Word, you find peace of mind, hope, healing, and joy. When the Holy Spirit is instilled inside of you, fear, and anxiety fade to the background; rarely resurfacing and easily pushed away when it does. Reading the Bible strengthens your faith, teaches you mercy & forgiveness, and fills you with the love & peace that only God can provide. All you must do to experience this is to immerse your spirit into the word of God. Make it a priority in your life to read and study the Bible.
God should be first in your life and your eternal soul deserves more of your time.
The Daniel Plan
Join me on this 40-day (plus) journey to better health. I will post my Bible Study notes using my standard format – but will customize it to fit the program; I will also make videos and post them to my TikTok, You Tube and Rumble accounts (maybe Insta and Facebook, too). I will be upfront and tell you the videos will be the same on all the platforms, so you don’t need to go from platform to platform to participate. At some point during this study, I plan to do some virtual live events (most likely on Facebook, but if we can increase our follower counts we can go live on TikTok, too) so we can all interact and support each other in real-time.
As for the materials needed for this study, I am going to start with the main book and the journal. Here are the links to get the materials (note these are affiliate links) "The Daniel Plan – 40-Days To A Healthier Life“, “The Daniel Plan Journal“, or buy them together in the 2-book set. As you can see from the provided links to the left, there are several more books / DVDs in the series. You are welcome to buy the entire series and go deeper into your study of The Daniel Plan, but don’t feel like you have to get the additional material to do the study with me. Just get the main book and the journal and you’ll have what you need to start the program.
I do plan to get the other books for our family and may implement them into the study as we get further into it. If I do introduce other material, I will let you know what material I’m using and provide you with the links so you can get the material to follow along if you are interested in it, but again, the only required material for this study is the “The Daniel Plan – 40-Days To A Healthier Life” and “The Daniel Plan Journal“. If you do join in with me, make sure to message me using the Holler At Us form, so I know you are participating.TIP: Get the main book as an ebook for the Kindle (and download the Kindle app on your phone) and get the journal in physical form so you have it to write in.
We aren’t really big on travelling to go shopping, but online shopping is fantastic. The stores below are some of our favorite shopping addictions:. Make sure to read our disclaimers at the end of this post for information about affiliate links at Koutz Farm.
Over the last few years online shopping has become more and more prevalent and is now the preferred way to shop for most consumers. We all know what happened that forced everyone indoors and stopped us going out to the brick and mortar stores, which hurt a lot of small businesses and hit the bottom lines of anyone that didn't have an online shopping option. While we love supporting (and highly recommend you doing so as well) our local community businesses, as introverts we find online shopping to be a better fit for our inner peace. We can find everything we need online and know how to price shop to compare things for great values. We've learned cheaper prices usually means cheaper quality of products and you really get what you pay for in today's online shopping experience. Another thing we've learned, the hard way, is you really have to watch out for scams with online shopping. Here are some of our tips and tricks for getting the best deals without sacrificing quality and avoiding shopping scams:
Nerd Wallet tells us that impulse buying is super easy to do. Before you start shopping, you need to write down a list of the items you are shopping for. Stick to your shopping list to avoid impulse purchases. See something while browsing online that you really want? Put it in a 'wish list' or a 'save for later' section of your account and get it on your next shopping trip when you've made a plan to purchase it and know you have the money to afford it.
Also from Nerd Wallet: Having a budget in mind is important before you start shopping online. It is really easy to get caught up in the moment and add a lot of things to your cart - before you know it, you've got over $500 of products in your cart and your budget only allows for $100. So you click the "save for later" or "wish list" button and take stuff out, even stuff you really wanted, to stay within your set budget.
If it is to good to be true, IT IS. There is no "probably is". The old saying was "If it is to good to be true, it probably is.", but take the probably out of it. In today's world, scammers are getting better and better and winning their games of conning people out of money. Be cautious and if you have a yucky feeling about it, then walk away. Don't talk yourself into buying something because it is a good deal. Trust us, we've been scammed out of several hundred dollars in the past - falling for Facebook Marketplace scams and even an online store that we found some great deals on and purchased, only to never receive the items and have the store completely disappear online after buying something.
Price shop from stores/brands you trust. If you are shopping for something specific, always price shop for it online at minimum 3 stores. So for example, look at Walmart.com, Amazon.com, and/or HSN.com.
Know the right time to buy certain items. We all know that holiday items tend to go on clearance the day after the respective holiday, but did you know there are certain times of the year products like electronics are cheaper and other times of the year they are more expensive? Know your shopping seasons, like Tax Free Weekend, Year-End Clearance, Black Friday Deals, Amazon Prime Days, and so forth. Read this article from Nerd Wallet for more information about this.
Even with big tech stores like Amazon and Walmart, you must be careful because they allow outside sellers to use their platform to sell products. This means you can still end up with a bad product. Many scammers or oversea markets will steal pictures of a higher quality product from another brand/store and post it as their own product. Then when you order, you get a product that looks similar, but is of a much lower quality and oftentimes so poorly made it becomes ridiculous. If you have an experience with one of these on the Amazon or Walmart platforms, you can return the products by going through customer support on the respective website and report the seller. This is just a word of caution, that the cheapest price isn't always the best product.
When you find stores you trust, turn them into FAVORITES (or bookmarks, depending on the browser you use) on your browser and download their apps (if they have one) because oftentimes they run specials for shopping directly from their apps as opposed to shopping online using their standard websites. Favorite them so you can easily go back to them without having to hunt them down, time and time again.
Use coupons and promo codes. We can't say this enough - take the time to hunt for coupons before going shopping at the brick and mortar stores or online. If you are shopping online, there are great browser add-ons out there like Honey (Now PayPal Rewards) (see example of our Honey PayPal Rewards Cash Out option in the screenshot below), Coupert, or Capital One Shopping (see example of our Capital One Shopping Rewards in the screenshot below). These add-ons will help you find the best price, tell you the best time to shop, let you earn rewards in their platforms, and more. You can also manually hunt down codes by going to RetailMeNot and other sites like it. You can learn more about "How To Coupon", by reading this article from Nerd Wallet.
We have found that when you leave items in your cart and "forget about them" for a few days, you oftentimes get email reminders that you've left something in your cart and those emails sometimes contain coupons if you checkout within a certain amount of time. Another similar "trick" is to cancel an account or put an account on hold. A lot of times, they will reach out to you to restore your account for a discounted rate. We unintentionally did this with our Hello Fresh Account a time or two when we wanted to put it on hold for a while. They gave us great discounts to come back to them, both times (the screenshot below shows an example of the latest discount we received for coming back to Hello Fresh).
By signing-up for email list and/or SMS Text list, you can receive special coupons and advanced notices of sales. The only problem we've had with this is that we end up getting on a bunch of spam lists and have to constantly clean-up spammy emails that get through the spam filter and we use the Robokiller app on our phone to prevent an overload of junk text and junk calls. Not all companies will sell your information, they all claim not to, but that doesn't mean they won't share it with their partners/affiliates (read their fine print) and then it be sold from one of them. If you have a system in place to deal with email, text, and phone calls then it is worth it to sign-up for your favorite stores and restaurants.
Here is a good one - use referral (affiliate) programs if they are available to you. Many companies give you your own unique sharable code that you can use to earn referral points for discounts or even monetary commissions. So always sign-up for these if they are available from the companies you use a lot. Share your code on social media, on your website if you have one, when talking to friends about the things you buy (if it comes up, don't be pushy with it), and through text messaging or email if you have permission to send it to your friends, etc. that way.
We'd love for you to add Koutz Farm's Market & Boutique to your favorite places to shop. Make sure to add us to your browsers' Favorites or Bookmarks so you can shop with us time and time again. Remember, shopping with small family-owned businesses like ours helps put food on our table, helps us take care of our daughter, helps us feed our animals, and so much more. Supporting businesses like ours means the world to us. When you support the bigger corporations, your dollars don't make a dent in the mass amounts of money and business they get each day - and they are going to thrive no matter how bad of a hit their bottom line takes. Smaller businesses aren't like that though. One sell can mean filling up the car with gas or buying a prom dress or sending one of the kids on the field trip they really wanted to go on. We thank you so much for your support and even if you don't support us directly, we thank you for supporting your local community small businesses. They truly need your support right now.
*There are affiliate links on this page. Koutz Farm may qualify for a monetary or equivalent referral bonus if you click on the link and make a purchase from the vendor. Make sure to read our Legal Terms & Conditions for more details about affiliate links. By clicking on any one of these links, you confirm that you are in agreement with all of our disclaimers, terms and conditions. The vendor may have different legal terms, disclaimers, and agreements so make sure to read theirs as well.
(Affiliate links don’t cost you anything to click – it only takes you to the product on the vendor’s site. If you decide to buy the product, then of course you will pay for the product like you would do if you were online shopping on your own. The only difference is, if you make a purchase, the vendor will give us a financial “reward” for sending you over to their site. That’s pretty much all there is to it.”)
Materials Needed For The Daniel Plan Study
Join us on August 1st, 2023 as Koutz Farm starts the next Bible study, this time we are focusing on getting healthier by using the Word of God to guide us to better eating, better physical activity, better mental health, and more.
From CJ: As a person that suffers with Fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s, Degenerative Disk Disease, and more, and with a spouse that suffers daily with Tinnitus and extreme acid reflux issues, I’ve been wanting to do this study for a long time. Unfortunately, when I started the “Daniel Plan” study the first time, I gave-up early on because I didn’t have any support with the program and it was before my official diagnosis – meaning I was suffering without medication and was sick all the time. Now, I’m ready to jump in to this and stick with it even though, and especially because, I suffer with chronic pain and the side effects of that every day. I am motivated, this time with more support from my family (although I don’t think they’ll participate fully in the study with me, I know they’ll support me through it). Plus, I have all of you to hold me accountable and support me along this journey, as well.

It is important to note that Koutz Farm is owned and operated by a Christian-faith, mostly conservative American family. Although they value diversity and do not force their beliefs on others, they expect that others will respect their rights to celebrate and observe their Christian-faith based holidays and express their patriotism to their country in any manner they see fit. This means that we may use terms like “Christmas” as opposed to saying “Holiday”. We may use phrases like “God Bless You And Your Family” or other such similar terms. We may also honor our U.S. soldiers to thank them for their services. Please do not construe this as disrespect to you and/or your religion or beliefs. This is our way to say we care enough to wish you good blessings and happy holidays in our own fashion and is not intended to be offensive. We choose to stick to our faith, knowing in our hearts that our ancestors would not be proud of us if we did it any other way. We respect your right to believe as you see fit and fully expect you to do the same for us. By using this site, you agree that it is okay for us to use Christian-faith based terms and that you acknowledge that we celebrate Christian-faith based holidays as well as support our country and troops. We will not be held legally liable for practicing our Constitutional Rights and doing what we believe is right. If you do not agree with this, please do not use our site.
