DRK

The word of God is to your soul as water is to your body. It is life! Reading the Bible is important because it instills you with the Holy Spirit. Through the Word, you find peace of mind, hope, healing, and joy. When the Holy Spirit is instilled inside of you, fear, and anxiety fade to the background; rarely resurfacing and easily pushed away when it does. Reading the Bible strengthens your faith, teaches you mercy & forgiveness, and fills you with the love & peace that only God can provide. All you must do to experience this is to immerse your spirit into the word of God. Make it a priority in your life to read and study the Bible.

God should be first in your life and your eternal soul deserves more of your time.

The Daniel Plan

Join me on this 40-day (plus) journey to better health. I will post my Bible Study notes using my standard format – but will customize it to fit the program; I will also make videos and post them to my TikTok, You Tube and Rumble accounts (maybe Insta and Facebook, too). I will be upfront and tell you the videos will be the same on all the platforms, so you don’t need to go from platform to platform to participate. At some point during this study, I plan to do some virtual live events (most likely on Facebook, but if we can increase our follower counts we can go live on TikTok, too) so we can all interact and support each other in real-time.

As for the materials needed for this study, I am going to start with the main book and the journal. Here are the links to get the materials (note these are affiliate links) "The Daniel Plan – 40-Days To A Healthier Life“, “The Daniel Plan Journal“, or buy them together in the 2-book set. As you can see from the provided links to the left, there are several more books / DVDs in the series. You are welcome to buy the entire series and go deeper into your study of The Daniel Plan, but don’t feel like you have to get the additional material to do the study with me. Just get the main book and the journal and you’ll have what you need to start the program.

I do plan to get the other books for our family and may implement them into the study as we get further into it. If I do introduce other material, I will let you know what material I’m using and provide you with the links so you can get the material to follow along if you are interested in it, but again, the only required material for this study is the “The Daniel Plan – 40-Days To A Healthier Life” and “The Daniel Plan Journal“. If you do join in with me, make sure to message me using the Holler At Us form, so I know you are participating.TIP: Get the main book as an ebook for the Kindle (and download the Kindle app on your phone) and get the journal in physical form so you have it to write in.

Koutz Farm Bible Study: Genesis 5.1 - 5.32

BIBLE STUDY FORMAT:

To begin this Bible Study, simply read the sections below: “Who”, “What”, “When”, “Where”, "Why", “How”, and “The Study Notes”. Use your own Bible as a reference and make sure to keep a journal handy for taking notes as the Lord guides you through your spiritual studies. When you are done, read the Prayer section (and pray along with us). Make sure to review the Action section and use our action points or make up your own actions. Make sure to check out our Questions & Answers section and if you want to dive deeper into your study invest some time in our References section, as well. This is how our Bible Study Format will be in this and all future Bible Study Posts. Let's get started...

Adam's Family Lines

WHO

This bible study includes God, Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, Noah, Shem, Ham and Japheth.

WHAT

  1. This short biblical chapter is the written account of Adam’s family line.

  2. God created male and female. He created them in the likeness of Himself. He called them “mankind” the day they were created. The key point here is that WE ARE CREATED IN THE LIKENESS OF GOD.

  3. For anyone that likes to study genealogy, this chapter is helpful in tracing biblical family lines all the way back to the very first humans' families – Adam’s family.

  4. Enoch walked faithfully with God for over 300 years. Enoch was taken away by God – Enoch never died, he was taken alive by God.

  5. This genealogy account takes us all the way to Noah. The next bible study will be Noah’s Ark.

WHEN

From Adam’s time as a father all the way to Noah’s time as the father.  Leading up to the Great Flood.

WHERE

It doesn’t really tell us the location in this chapter but I believe it is still East of Eden.

WHY

Most of this section is about the genealogy of Adam and Eve's descendants. This documents the importance of family lines and helps us remember where we came from, all the way back to ancient times. Now, we can't really trace ourselves back to Cain or Seth's family lines - that I know of anyway - but it gives us a look at our ancestors. We know we belong to God's family and this just outlines how magical that connection we have with God is. It is a powerful and wonderful thing to be a creation of the Most-High Loving Father.

We also learn of Enoch being taken up to the heavens, without going through the pain of death. Although he was a man of flesh (which means he had sin in him, because Jesus is the only sin-free man of flesh), Enoch was so faithful to God and God rewarded Enoch by taking him up without going through death. This shows God's power and mercy over us. Although, we must go through the pain of death because of sin, our walk with Christ helps us to endure to the end where we know we are going to meet our Creator on the other side. We are going to get to hug Jesus and be reunited with our loved ones and all the pets we loved here on earth. They will have new bodies and be new creations, but I feel that we will recognize them and get to experience the joy of such a great reunion. On the other side of this harsh life, we will find our true home and meaning for existing. In the meantime, we must endure to the end as God has commanded us, no matter how hard it gets. He is with us through it.

HOW

Well, the how here is called “the birds and the bees”….”twitterpated”….or the official word – sex. This chapter is talking about the family line and family lines are not created without parents doing their thing.

STUDY NOTES

“After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.” ~ Genesis 5:22 – 5:24

Enoch didn’t die – did you notice that in this section of Chapter 5? Enoch was taken away by God. Enoch went straight to heaven because he was so faithful to God. I can’t imagine what a sinless life would look like – sin is so prevalent today that what we think is okay would be a royal mess up back then. We know that Jesus is the only living human that was 100% sin-free. This means Enoch, too, sinned – but his FAITH in God was so great and so strong that God saved him from death. Pretty cool for Mr. Enoch. Pretty cool to know that when the rapture comes – that’s what will happen again but on a mass scale.

Adam's Family Line

PRAYER

Almighty God,

Teach us how to walk faithfully with you, Lord. From Adam to Noah, you were present with your creations…you spoke with them in some form that they could see and hear. It was hard for them to walk faithfully with you all the time and you were more physically present with them. Please understand that it is hard for those of us that live in a time when you don’t come audibly talk to us through burning bushes and clouds, to have faith all the time. We try, oh how we try, Lord my God. Please teach us to have the faith of Enoch and of Noah. Lord, my King in Heaven, teach us to hear you and to see you in all the things and in the people around us. Help guide us to love each other. Help give us courage and help us trust in you fully – through the good and the bad.

Amen.

ACTION

  • Have you ever studied your own family tree? Do you know your family’s heritage? We all have a story – it took a lot of people to make you. Spend some time talking to the elders in your family about your family history. Take some time to organize old family photos or to track down your tree on a site like Ancestry.com. You will learn a lot and it is usually pretty fun to do once you get started.

QUESTION & ANSWERS

When we go through the Word of God, we often have questions and sometimes even thoughts that might not make us feel good as Christians. I know that our family often runs into this and we do our best to talk through them and find answers to help us better understand. This section contains some of the questions we often ask ourselves. You are welcome to comment with your thoughts or with additional questions too. We are not perfect by any means and we definitely are not Bible scholars, theologists, pastors or any profession even close. We are just a family trying to learn the Word of God by reading it and praying about it.

QUESTION:

HUMANS HAD VERY LONG LIFETIMES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE. WHY DON'T WE HAVE LIFESPANS OF 600+ YEARS ANY LONGER? WHY IS OUR LIFESPAN SO SHORT COMPARED TO OUR BIBLICAL ANCESTORS - USUALLY 90 YEARS OR LESS FOR MOST?

ANSWER:

“And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” ~ Genesis 6:3

As noted in Genesis, God numbered our days because of the evil nature humans tend to have. He let the first peoples live longer because He hoped the people would use their free will for good and that didn't happen, instead evil happened. God was also using this time to populate the Earth. People had to live longer so they could have more children and very large families. We have shorter life spans because the world has been populated for a very long time - we don't need to live that long.

In addition, the foods they ate back in that time were more nutritious and pure. The foods and beverages we drink now are full of toxic chemicals and harmful dyes. Sugar and sugar substitutes and so on. Our air is polluted and we have planes that fly over our lands and spray harmful chemicals throughout the sky (look up chemtrails if you want to research that more). All of these things shorten our lifespans exponentially.

QUESTION:

WHY DOESN'T THE BIBLE TALK ABOUT THE NAMES AND LIVES OF ALL THE SONS & DAUGHTERS THAT CAME THROUGHOUT THIS TIME OF POPULATING THE WORLD? THE BIBLE MENTIONS THAT THERE WERE OTHER SONS AND DAUGHTERS, BUT IT DOESN'T TELL US WHO THEY ALL WERE.

ANSWER:

These other sons and daughters mentioned here are the ones that God chose to drown in the Great Flood because of all the wickedness in the world. Their family lines stopped with the flood and they were no more. Not to mention the fact that it would take forever and a million quadrillion pages for that much detail. Sadly, those sons and daughters used their free will to reject God and embrace the evil of the world and God used His wrath against them to rid the world of the evil that had consumed it. In the future, we will have an event "as in the days of Noah" meaning that God will wipe off all the evil from the face of the earth. He promised it wouldn't be through water like it was the first time -- that is where our rainbow comes in and we'll talk more about that in another study post -- but it will be through famine, pestilence, plagues, and flames (to name a few). The end is going to be terrible for anyone that has rejected God, their Creator. It is time now to embrace Him, get to know Him, and experience the true LOVE He has for you.

QUESTION:

WHAT DOES "NOAH" MEAN IN HEBREW?

ANSWER:

"Noah" in Hebrew is like our word "comfort". When Noah was born and named, his father said, "This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed."

BIBLE STUDY TIPS

Read the footers in your Bible. They are really helpful in understanding some of the words being used and they give you some pretty interesting information – like how long a cubit actually is.

Materials Needed For The Daniel Plan Study

Join us on August 1st, 2023 as Koutz Farm starts the next Bible study, this time we are focusing on getting healthier by using the Word of God to guide us to better eating, better physical activity, better mental health, and more.

From CJ: As a person that suffers with Fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s, Degenerative Disk Disease, and more, and with a spouse that suffers daily with Tinnitus and extreme acid reflux issues, I’ve been wanting to do this study for a long time. Unfortunately, when I started the “Daniel Plan” study the first time, I gave-up early on because I didn’t have any support with the program and it was before my official diagnosis – meaning I was suffering without medication and was sick all the time. Now, I’m ready to jump in to this and stick with it even though, and especially because, I suffer with chronic pain and the side effects of that every day. I am motivated, this time with more support from my family (although I don’t think they’ll participate fully in the study with me, I know they’ll support me through it). Plus, I have all of you to hold me accountable and support me along this journey, as well.

It is important to note that Koutz Farm is owned and operated by a Christian-faith, mostly conservative American family.  Although they value diversity and do not force their beliefs on others, they expect that others will respect their rights to celebrate and observe their Christian-faith based holidays and express their patriotism to their country in any manner they see fit.  This means that we may use terms like “Christmas” as opposed to saying “Holiday”.  We may use phrases like “God Bless You And Your Family” or other such similar terms.  We may also honor our U.S. soldiers to thank them for their services.  Please do not construe this as disrespect to you and/or your religion or beliefs.  This is our way to say we care enough to wish you good blessings and happy holidays in our own fashion and is not intended to be offensive.  We choose to stick to our faith, knowing in our hearts that our ancestors would not be proud of us if we did it any other way.  We respect your right to believe as you see fit and fully expect you to do the same for us.  By using this site, you agree that it is okay for us to use Christian-faith based terms and that you acknowledge that we celebrate Christian-faith based holidays as well as support our country and troops.  We will not be held legally liable for practicing our Constitutional Rights and doing what we believe is right.  If you do not agree with this, please do not use our site.  Continued use of this website and all associated pages signifies that you are in complete acceptance of this policy.
